Cracked

This drawing touched me… sometimes I still feel cracked. If I could call down fire from the heavens.
.. but thank God I can’t, you know what mean?

Ashley Mackensie ’s illustration entitled
“Cracked” (at top), was created for a school
assignment that required interpreting an
article about bullying. “The hairline cracks
represent the subtle damage that bullying
causes, and if not handled with care, they
could easily shatter. I used graphite and
scratch-board and combined the two
surfaces in Photoshop with some minor
touch-ups,” [1] states Mackensie.

One doesn’t actually have to be all that different to be a target. Not a different ethnicity, nor a different faith, nor even a different class group or school team. All it takes is an oddity and someone to point it out.
