Still recovering from my birthday fever, which came with aching muscles and joints.

As expected, skipping tai chi for two days left me with no energy at all. So today I resumed it, but softening the moves more than usual and with a high stance, like old man Cheng. It seems to retain the beneficial effects without the straining, which I find to be strange.

The “soft as pudding” Cheng Man Ching style may be useless as a combat form, but purely as a health exercise, it seems almost as beneficial as the more strenuous style Cheng practiced when he was younger.
