Is this to be my fate?
The author of this article is living a lonely, desolate life completely devoid of intimacy. He will watch his friends fall in love and get married and know that that is a joy he can never share in. He will never have someone to hold him when he’s in pain, he will sleep alone every night. He will never have someone to chat with over coffee in the morning, never cuddle someone on the couch, never be able to say, “I love you” to a partner and hear it back. He will never have children. And when he dies, he will die alone; the closest relationships in his life will be with church acquaintances and extended family, his funeral will be sparsely attended at best.
